Description

Light up the complexion with BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, an award-winning highlighting powder from the exclusive makeup range. Enriched with the power of ultra-fine, multi-toned, luminescent pearls, this A-list favourite is designed to replicate the dazzling natural light of the sun, bringing high-shine to cheeks, even on the dullest days. The pressed powder has a creamy consistency. Unlike other powder highlighters that are layered with powders, pressed powder is made by combining the pigments with liquid to achieve a buttery texture. They lend a natural-looking high-shine finish and are best suited for oily, combination, and normal skin types. When deciding, I would think about what types of products you use most often and what level of coverage you would want to have most of the time. If you have drier skin, you may prefer the liquid or cream versions. If you have oilier skin, the cream or powder versions may appeal more. If you don’t like a lot of shimmer or want something that can easily be used all-over, I think the liquid is best. If you love shimmer and the more reflective the better, the powder is an excellent choice. I think the colors are fairly consistent across the board, particularly once applied to the skin, with the liquid versions giving the least amount of color due to their deliberately sheer quality. Shimmering Skin Perfector is the #1 best-selling highlighter in the U.S., according to the NPD Group U.S. Prestige Beauty Total Measured Market, Makeup Product Sales report, for the 12 months ending May 2021.

Gold Pop (formerly Prosecco Pop): True, ethereal gold, that flatters medium to deep skin tones; perfect for anyone who wants a flash of golden radiance. Why is this being reviewed you ask? Because I--stupidly--did not read through the product listing before purchasing and thought it was a NEW shade to celebrate the Year of the Rat, when in fact it is long-standing Moonstone in new clothing! ? The only one that I’ve tried is Smokey Quartz which I thought I’d love but subsequently returned. The formula was really thin and dusty and I didn’t like how it look on my cheeks. Cruelty-Free and Vegan Status Step 3: Blend the brush on other facial features you want to highlight, such as the bridge of your nose, chin, and forehead. As you can see by the swatches Becca Opal is slightly more golden and darker than Becca Champagne Pop that has peachy undertones.

This is one the most recent limited edition releases. It’s a medium warm peach with a gold shift. This shade is warmer and the shift is more dramatic than Lilac Geode. I didn’t love the way this looked on me, I found the color a little intense and not super flattering but it would probably work better on deeper skin tones. Use the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector under foundation– if you use a slightly sheerer foundation, you can apply some of the product onto the skin before you apply the foundation, like a base. This gives a lovely glow, especially if you use a sheer foundation or BB Cream over it. Use the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector as a highlighter– Use this on top of foundation where you want to highlight, tapping a little bit of product onto where you want it to go and blending it out gently with your fingers. The effect is much more subtle and flattering than many powder highlighters that seem to shine in the dark. So if you don’t own any of the Becca highlighters Champagne Pop is a great shade to get since Becca claims that it would suit most skin tones. I was quite impressed with the staying power. After wearing it for about 11 hours, I come home from work with still a hint of a glow on my cheekbones, although it’s slight and nowhere near as strong as it was when I first applied – I do feel like the Pressed version has a stronger highlight at the 11-hour mark. Like most cream products, I feel like this will likely be more long-wearing on those with dry skin (like me) than those with oily skin.

On my medium skin tone it looks really nice, not as intense as their other shade Opal which I actually like. I can definitely see the peach undertones when applied on my cheeks. Step 1: Use a fluffy brush or angled highlighter, swirl it over the highlighter, and tap off the excess. TOPAZ: The actual color is consistent across all three, but you’ll notice that the cream and powder versions are much, much more intense due to being a lot more pigmented. The cream version offers the smoothest sheen, while the powder version has a more shimmery finish. Let us look at a few essential points that you need to consider while buying a statement-making BECCA highlighter to create your favorite celebrity-inspired makeup looks. How To Choose BECCA Highlighter Color Yes, Champagne Pop from Becca cosmetics is good for every skin tone, including pale skin. This peachy-pink hue neutralizes the pink undertones in the skin to lend an even and radiant complexion. In all honesty when I look at Becca Opal swatched next to Becca Champagne Pop they do look very similar so if you already own Opal I don’t think you’ll have to get Champagne Pop. Or if you’re like me and you love highlighters you can actually tell a difference between the two :). Poured (Cream)— It works well on bare skin or over liquid foundation from my experience. I like using duo fiber or stippling brushes gently swirled in the compact, then lightly patted in three places along the cheek bone for initial lay-down of color, and then blend by swirling in feathery circular motions. Fingertips are also excellent for blending out the color once you’ve applied the initial amount. Opal: A neutral, white gold with universally flattering, soft pink undertones; adds a perfect amount of radiance. The formula of this highlighter is much too stiff to be able to use with most brushes, but I imagine that a very dense stippling brush may be able to get the job done. I’ve found that the best (and recommended) way to apply this highlighter is with your fingers. I swirl my ring finger around the product, and then I swipe it along my cheekbone area. Using my middle and ring finger, I then blend it all out, and the highlighter is so easy to work with and blend out. Rinse and repeat, until I get my desired amount of glow. Left: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Moonstone. They look very similar on the fingers even though they look significantly different on the cheekbones

Similar to the other Becca highlighters in the regular line, the Poured highlighters are housed in a sleek UFO-looking compact with the brushed metal in the middle and a rubberized brown edge, which tends to collect a lot of shimmer (for me at least). As you can see in the photo, the compact of the Poured version is actually a lot smaller than that of their pressed formula, even though the pressed version does not contain that much more product!Original (Liquid) has the most slip with a thin, almost water-like consistency that spreads very well over even dry patches and mixes easily with other products (like liquid foundation, moisturizer, etc.). Best for anyone who likes a dewy sheen with less shimmer and visible color, best for all-over luminosity (I prefer mixing in with a liquid foundation). Due to the pump mechanism, it is harder to get a very small amount out (if I want to Now for the comparison swatches. People were wondering how similar Champagne Pop is to Becca Moonstone or Opal and also how it compares to The Balm Mary Lou. When you look at the pan and compare the shades, Mary Lou is the lightest of all, then comes Becca Moonstone, Becca Champagne Pop and the darkest of the bunch Becca Opal. Pale skin: If you have pale to light skin, you could opt for silver-toned, pearlescent, or champagne highlighter. A cool-toned Becca highlighter for fair skin would be a great choice. Although you need to avoid shades that are too warm, soft tones with golden highlights look great. We absolutely love Prismatic Amethyst, Pearl, and Moonstone.
